現在の共和党議席数は53席で、民主党45席で、共和党としては1議席も失いたくない戦いとなっています。しかも、再選挙は共和党上院議員24人に対して、民主党議員は12人の再選挙です。
再選挙に直面している議員の一人である、スーザン・コリンズ共和党上院議員が民主党員に議席を奪われそうな選挙結果が出てきました。
43％がサラ・ギデオン民主党候補で、42％が現共和党議員スーザン・コリンズ議員という投票予測です。
Forty-two percent of respondents in a Colby College poll said they would vote for Collins, compared to 43 percent who said they would support Sara Gideon, the speaker of the Maine House of Representatives and the front-runner for the Democratic nomination.

弾劾調査の投票をふまえてなのか、共和党上院議員の中で嫌われものだったミッチ・マコネル上院議員院内総務を抜いて、もっとも支持されていない上院議員となりました。とはいえ、マコネル議員も再選挙ですが、当選確実とみられているようです。

Collins was deemed to be the country’s least popular senator after the survey from Morning Consult found that a majority of Maine residents, 52 percent, disapprove of Collins, while 42 percent approve. McConnell was the second least popular, registering 50 percent disapproval and 42 percent approval ratings.
このアンケートは、サンプル数は多いですがアンケート調査のようなものですね。ちなみに、上院で最も好かれているのはサンダース議員で65％。次いで、共和党ではワイオミング州ジョン・バラッソ上院議員(カトリック信仰）です。
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) took the top position, with 65 percent approving and 29 percent disapproving of the presidential candidate. Republican Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso was in second place, enjoying a 64 percent approval rating and a disapproval rating of only 21 percent.
