民主党のペロシ下院議長も、新コロナウイルス経済対策法案第四弾には意欲をみせている。ペロシ下院議長もインフラ投資が必要だと考えているが、現在はどのくらいの予算を考えているのかがまだ明らかになっていない。ただ、新型コロナ対策法案の策定過程で7600億ドル規模の予算を盛り込んでいたことがあった。また、ヘルスケアへの財政支援も100億ドルほど追加したい考えである。
また、 第４弾には、世帯へのより大規模な直接給付、新型コロナ感染治療の無償提供、病院や州・地方自治体への追加拠出が含まれるべきとの考えを示した。

共和党のリンゼー・グラム上院議員は３１日、ＦＯＸニュースに対し、「第３弾に盛り込まれた失業手当について非常に懸念している。手当を受け取るるまでに６─８週間かかる可能性がある」と語った。

マコネル上院院内総務はケンタッキー州出身で共和党が強い。バックに煙草業界がついていて組織票があるので負けないとは思うが、対抗馬がいる。民主党候補 Democrat Amy McGrathだ。海軍出身の元パイロットで2018年に下院で出馬したが負けている。難しい選挙にはなるが、バイデン旋風が起きれば何があるかはわからない。
マコネル上院院内総務は2.5兆ドルの予算を自分のてがらのようにして広告出稿しているが、もしかしたら命取りになる可能性もあるだろう。
上院議員共和党の再選挙で、どんなキャンペーンをうってくるかは非常に興味深いものがある。
